One of a Kind Gift
Most of us have grown up where giving gifts is through out the year is practiced regularly. We did not have a great deal of money. My parents worked hard for everything that they had and everything that they gave to us. {I think this is why anything extra that was given felt like a gift}. That’s probably why when we got a gift for doing good in school or being good it felt like a gift.

As adults we try to carry on what we‘ve learned about giving. I buy items when I see them on sale and store them in a closet at home. And when it comes time for a present I already have them on hand. My favorite thing to do is to develop unique gift baskets for the people I am giving to. That’s were the gifts and such come in to the picture that you pick up through out the year. Some people would rather make there own gift baskets but most everyone doesn’t have that time and if you do some research you can find some great baskets that like you spent a lot of tome on them your self.
To start my unique gift baskets I find a container that suits the person I am giving the gift too. I’ve use lots of things. Some times you can use the basket or container as the main gift or just to hold the other items. Christmas is a good holiday to give baskets it allows you to keep to a budget and makes it look like a lot more than it is. My ex mother in law was a wonderful gardener. They have beautiful backyard gardens. You can start this kind of project by getting a watering can that would be your base for your gifts. Inside I placed a pair of shears for cutting flowers, a hand prune , a hand held spade and rake for potting plants and a mister to apply pesticides. You can get a sun hat and tie it to the handle to the watering can also. My ex-mother in-law loved the basket. Having the gardening tools given in the winter time gave them extra hope that spring was on its way.
Giving baskets with personal care is a good idea also. You can make your own unique baskets instead of the pre bought ones. That way you can give them what fits them the most their favorite perfume or the all time favorite candy. You can also do large family baskets if you exchange gifts with close family friends a little of something for everyone in the family. These unique gift baskets included a deck of cards, a card game, dice and rules for a dice game, a box of microwave popcorn, several boxes of movie theater candies, and certificates for movie rentals at the neighborhood video store and a certificate for a take and bake pizza. The basket or container to hold these items can be a popcorn bowl hard to find but when you do it makes a great base. It makes families come together I know I loved family night even though I didn’t want to admit it then. It is fun to use your imagination and to put together gifts that people will enjoy because they were made specifically for them.
